Troy and Micah Wallace Owners/Stylists

Troy and Micah opened The Salon at Wellington Arms in January 2013. Focused on exceptional guest relations, they work diligently at providing a stellar experience by hiring and retaining competent staff who are continuously trained, using and offering the finest hair care and color on the market, and maintaining a beautifully decorated salon with state-of-the art equipment. Their goal?  To exceed your expectations.

Troy Wallace

Passionate. Personable. Proficient.

If you’re a client, you’ll agree Troy is all of the above.  Everyone appreciates his consistency and steadfast, easy disposition. It was inevitable he’d become a salon owner:  He’s at the top of his game and in constant demand. His work speaks for itself.

Micah Wallace

Creative.  Compassionate. Charismatic.

A tremendously talented stylist, Micah is passionate about his craft with drive to continuously grow.  You can be assured he’ll deliver his very best, every time. His guests receive his undivided attention to detail and expertise, leave his chair seeing and feeling the benefits, all the while enjoying his engaging and magnetic personality.

Alan Garrett

A prominent member of The Salon at Wellington Arms, Alan is the previous owner of  Salon A and prior partner at Timothy’s. He’s one of Lexington’s most renowned and respected stylists.  It’s no secret why he has a large and loyal following: It’s his unmistakable talent and genuine personality.  We’re honored he’s part of our team.

Scott Schrader

Possibly one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet, Scott brings a versatile skill set that’s integral to our salon.  Equally at ease with both women’s and men’s hair, he has a real knack for boosting a client’s confidence with his superb styles.  A fan of the glamour eras of yesterdays gone by, Scott is the man for creating the retro ‘do for you –  or the latest trendy cut, as his versatility equates to “current”, too.  His work and natural rapport with guests (he’s quite the storyteller) keep them coming back.

Brittany Hall

Serendipity? That was our first thought when we met Brittany. We believed she was the perfect fit for our team and she proved us right. Her easy personality makes you feel as though you’ve known her forever. This energetic Texas native has gained quite the following since she joined us in 2016. She’s a professional with competent color, cutting and styling skills.  Her clients enjoy the personalized attention she delivers and you will, too.

Dominique Bennett

Don’t we all wish we had the foresight of Dominique?  Had we known at age 3 what we wanted to be when we grew up, and then DID it, how good (and happy) we would be at and with our craft!  It happens for a select few.  The cosmetology school she attended recognized it, hence her placement in an elite group of students chosen based on attitude and fortitude.  We’re beyond happy to welcome her to The Salon at Wellington Arms, and introduce you to a stylist with solid skills and experience including formal styling, makeup, and color.  She herself says, “I love to customize cuts based on face shape and lifestyle.  I strongly feel I need my clients as much as they need me, as there is no greater feeling than seeing than seeing a smiling face leave my chair.

We trust you’ll leave here smiling

Chelsea Monaghan

This Philly girl’s got it.  Rather new (2014) to Lexington, Chelsea graduated from cosmetology school as an apprentice in January 2017, and joined us to learn, grow, and complete the required work experience to take her State Board Exam and become a Master Cosmetologist in October 2017.  We’re cheering her on, as she has taken on everything we’ve tasked her with – – starting with the front desk, and then on to becoming Alan Garrett’s assistant — smart move, to learn from a Lexington hair legend.  We’re glad she’s here.

Don’t hesitate to call on Chelsea.  We believe in her.

John McGinnis Hoover

They say, “There’s not a word yet for old friends who’ve just met”.  It happens when you meet someone with common values and perspectives; there’s a sense of familiarity despite the short amount of time you’ve known each other.

Our newest team member, John joined us in August 2017. Originally from Ann Arbor, MI, he previously owned a day spa for five years, was a lead educator at The Aveda Institute in Hoover, AL and most recently taught at The Summit Salon Academy here in Lexington.  Ready to return to his place behind the chair, we’re elated he chose one here at The Salon at Wellington Arms.  He has quickly become an integral part of our team, consistently delivering color, cuts and styles that delight even the most discriminating clients.  He shares our goal of providing an exceptional guest experience.  He delivers it with communication and expertise

Come and meet our new old friend.

Daisy Mendoza

Many of our hair clients feel their salon visit isn’t complete without an impeccable manicure or pedicure with Daisy.  We agree! Her personality is warm, caring, soothing, might we add her services are perhaps healing? We assure you they are most enjoyable.  She takes great pride in her work and is one of the best at what she does.  You’ll find her delightful and we suggest you add yourself to her long list of extremely satisfied clients.

Lori Jylkka

The face and voice of the salon, Lori is a multitasking wonder.  In between greeting guests upon arrival and wrapping things up at their departure, she keeps a multitude of things running smoothly in the background.  Although keeping us organized and on-track is not a simple feat some days, she remains composed and amazingly stays one step ahead.  She anchors us.
